I started painting doormats for fun for my own front door because I liked to switch them out often and didn’t want to spend a lot of money changing my decor. I would paint on my dining room table while my husband watched sports. It was a great way for me to relax after a long day of teaching. 

I would post them on my personal Facebook and Instagram page and friends and family would ask to order them. Slowly, they were becoming more popular and I was getting more requests. I decided to officially open an Etsy shop in 2018 to help organize my orders and make it easier for customers. 

I graduated from my dining room table to my own workspace, and my husband has joined my team (while still watching sports). I have now shipped doormats internationally and have collaborated with people all over the country. 

I enjoy creating new designs for customers and seeing their front doors with a shut the front door doormat.
